Testimonial #101: Here, buy this used camera
Just was in one of these wonderful stores in Kitchener...... 4 of us were helping my Down Syndrome brother select/choose a Digital Camera that suited his abilities. One of the 2 sales people came up to us and showed us some of the features and options in cameras. DID NOT SAY ANYHTHING ABOUT AVAILABILITY of any cameras. So she goes off and we continue another 20 minutes triing each of the cameras out. 1 particular model caught his eye and that was the one he wanted. It was 199.9x ish made by Samsung. After his $100.00 in gift certificates it was a pretty good price. Anyways, we asked one of these "Smart Friends" for the model behind the glass case.
The sales person said "The display model is the last one available in the store, we can offer you 10% off the display model". Naturally I said, No and wanted a brand new one ($20.00 off? don't think so). Wondered if I could get one from another store, 'bout an hour away. She didn't check the computer or even call for availablity?? I guess she JUST knew it all. The second sales person, LALA is her name (AKA BITCH) came up to us, along side of the other sales girl, and also told us the same thing but tried to sway me to another camera? I was thinking to myself, "the camera is not for me Bitch, it's for my brother, because it's easier to use", but remained calm, polite but persistant. Well, she couldn't do anything for me so I asked to speak with the manager to see if she could do anything for me.
Spoke with the manager DEB, really helpful. Went to the computer and checked for stock/inventory. Nothing was available here or out of town. I thanked her for triing but did mention that an OPEN BOX product should be identified on the product price tag or something, because we just wasted our time. Most other stores (ie Future Shop sister company) do this on their price tags. Actually, even other competitors also do this. She agreed and apologized.....BUT........
The second sales person LALA piped up and said (with a manager standing in front of us) that "we refused help, so she didn't tell us!!!" WHAT!!!! I was OK until now but now I'm just furious. I told her that she should have not opened her mouth. That pissed me off!!!!! Fuckin' lied right in front of me for no reason?!!!! She wasn't even the one who approached us!!!! So I thanked the manager for her help, and left.... FUTURE SHOP and BEST BUY are both under the same blanket.
