Testimonial #105: Sad Employee
Hi
I am a Best Buy employee (Phone Ops and Customer Service Rep) and I can
honestly say that I really I hate my job.
Oh...and here's lovely little tidbit for those of you who has ever tried to
buy an ad laptop...something that the Best Buy bigwigs don't want people to
know about.
Every Sunday Best Buy comes out with a brand new ad that runs until
Saturday. So people either come in the store or call in. They have their
eyes set on that Toshiba laptop that is usually $700 but is brought down to
$500 for that week. The main difference of the two is that they'll tell you
that the ad laptop has no antivirus or vi-spy or geeksquad protection and
that the preloaded ones do.
And guess what...
...it's all a fucking lie.
None of them come preloaded. They're all without the protections and extra
add ins.
Another thing that they'll tell you when you go into the store is "I'm
sorry....we're all out of ad laptops. We only have the preloaded ones."
Bullshit!
They only say that so you'll pay the extra $100-$200. Then they'll send the
laptop to GeekSquad and have them install the programs.
It's a scam that's very well thought of throughout the PCHO department of
Best Buy and, as a Phone Op and CA Rep...something that seriously pisses me
off.
Here's to the day I find a bigger and better job,
Best Buy employee of only 6 months and counting.
