Testimonial #35: "Tech" support

I work at Best Buy and I am one of those techs that you hate so much, I agree with you when you say that anyone can be a tech at best buy, but a few of us are ( because of the economy) are at least qualified to some over qualified to work for best buy. I can only speak for myself and say I am A+ certified and I also have my MCSE. I hate working for Best Buy but until I can get a job at a legitimate company not out to screw the customer I am willing to get paid pretty good money as a tech (some techs make up to $22 dollars an hour) I must work there to pay the bills. I am not trying to stick up for the company at all I agree they do all and more of the things you claim but when a customer comes in with a computer three times in two weeks because they keep downloading viruses off the internet and expect us to fix the problem every time for free because they bought the "service plan" is bullshit. I will reformat the hard drive and restore the computer for the customer and the next day they will be back with another virus from kazza that they downloaded over the night to get there free music off the internet even after I told them that they have to have some kind of antivirus on there computer. I also love the old people who come in and expect me to give them an eight hour tutorial on how to use a mouse because they spent $399 on our cheapest computer (colleges charge $500 on a basic course to teach people and the only thing I get is a migraine.)

There are a lot of employees' that work for the company that hate having to pressure the customers into buying the service and the digital services we offer. I myself don't do it and a lot of the techs I work with will not do it either and somehow we don't get pressured to do it from managers like a lot of the people in sales do, because the manager have no clue what our job is to do in the company. The managers are all puppets mostly young men and women who haven't worked for another company and been able to compare the bullshit the company drills into you with a company wit dare I say it ethics. This process brainwashes these morons into thinking Best Buy is the best place on earth to not only to shop at but it’s the best company to work for. Anyone of us who have any kind of independent thought are put on there shit list and there lives in hell so most of us just hate best buy in silent. I thank you for creating this site for those of us who have wanted to tell it like it is at Best Buy but have been to afraid to say anything for fear of being black balled by a shitty company.

From,
Your Qualified Tech and fellow Best Buy hater
