Testimonial #38: 10% off the computer...sort of...
After reading many of the responses on your site, i have MANY of my own, but choose this one specially.
I went to Best Buy to buy a laptop computer for myself to use at college. I looked in the newpaper and saw that they had some on sale. They show the Price, and then the Final price after all the rebates and so on. So we went to the store and started looking at an HP Computer. The computer was listed at $1,900 and after a 10% discount it would have come to $1,700, then you got rebates ontop of that. (sounds like a deal, so we bought it) when we went to check out, it rang up $1,900 instead of $1,700. We questioned the price and they told us that the 10% discount was off of the price of $2,100 not $1,900 as we were told. We looked at the price tag from the shelf and it said the original price was $1,900. The sale person also had told us this in his pitch. Another person buying a computer said that their sales person said the same thing. The store manager said that those two salesmen listened wrong in the meeting the day before and got the pitch wrong. Well needless to say he was not a friendly guy (this is so hard to believe, NOT!) My dad got on the guy and said that maybe he needed to look at how it was presented and not to blame the salesmen as for two got it wrong not one, so it had to be the meeting not the personel. We got the computer at $1,700 and a PSP. My computer is in for it's forth repair in less than a year. Quality service by Best Buy and quality products by HP. DON'T SHOPE AT BEST BUY OR BUY AN HP PRODUCT! I live in Charlotte, NC and went to the store at University Place.
