Testimonial #4: Anonymous Canadian Employee

I worked for Best Bastard (I prefer not to call them by that other name) for a few months. I'm Canadian, and was hired to help open their first store in Canada. The basic problem with them is that they are a bunch of liars and hypocrites, even to the employees. I suppose I can be accused of being a bitter former employee, but that's not entirely true.

I was fired two weeks before my probation was over, so by law they didn't have to give me notice or a reason, but they did. They claimed I "wasn't promotable". I was hired for a lesser supervisory role, after working as store a manager in small retail outlets for over 7years. So that was bullshit. Why was I really fired? That's a good question, and I'll never know the real truth. Maybe it's because I had to remind my supervisors of basic Best Bastard policies, such as being a "Smart Friend, following labour laws regarding scheduling, etc.

Once they let me go, they fucked up my separation papers, and reneged on a promise regarding my final cheque.
