Testimonial #64: SURE, you can bring that back, no problem!
I went to Best Buy in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to buy a laptop and specifically told them that I would take it if I had no problem loading the third party softwares I planned to use. The sales representative said that I could take it and try to load the software and see if it was working fine and if I was not happy I could return within 14 days with no charge. I took it back a week later because it was not working fine with the softwares I had loaded. They refused to take it back without the 15% restocking fee even though everything was returned in perfect condition. The reason they gave me was that there was no defect in the product and they just waive the 15% restocking fee. On telling them that they sales representative had told me that I could return without any charge, the nventory manager told me that the sales representative was new and that what was told was not true and that I could stay there the whole day and argue about it. Bottom line is that I am not going to shop at Best Buy again. Their poor customer service and their return policy just shows how bad their management is. Wouldn't be surprised if they go down the drain with bankruptcy problems? I am a customer of Circuit City now for they don't have any restocking fee.
